HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

Welcome to my coaching practice. I’m honored to be part of your journey. In order to work together, you will want to become familiar with my process, disclosures, and policies. They are briefly outlined here.

 Process:

As your Trauma Coach, I support, empower, and encourage you in your recovery journey.  We are peers in this process.  You are the best source of information for your needs.  I am here to help you discover and utilize your own inner wisdom.  I am here to support you in the process of growing your awareness of the effects of trauma and to guide you in finding your own path of recovery.

My own life experience in recovery from both trauma and addiction, as well as extensive experience as a guide and facilitator are my primary tools. Utilizing my skills as a Trauma Recovery Coach, I will help you move through fears, anxieties, and old patterns to a place of authenticity and peace.  Together, we will set goals to move past your trauma response. Together, we will find own path to recovery.

Disclosures:

– Trauma coaching may result in healthy changes in your existing relationships as well as healthy changes in the types of relationships you form with yourself, others, and the world around you.

–  I work with some clients on Zoom, which is not HIPPA compliant. Therefore, there is a greater than 0% chance that information shared on Zoom could be compromised in a data breach.

–  You have the choice to record the session on zoom, or the recording app on your phone. I will not record your sessions unless you request it.

–  I will not disclose, reveal or make use of any confidential information without your expressed written consent.  I will keep anything you say to me, my notes from our sessions, any paperwork provided by you or your physician, mental health professional or legal representative provided to me in the strictest confidence.

Your safety is very important to me. Our coaching relationship is built on safety and trust.  The only legal exception to our confidentiality agreement is if I feel you are in danger of harming yourself, another person, or if I receive a legal subpoena to release your records. In the event of a subpoena, I will contact you that so you may take appropriate action.

–  As a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach, If I am made aware of event(s), abuse(s), or neglect which fall under guidelines for mandated reporting, I will ALWAYS report any such abuse(s) to appropriate local agencies.  Types of events and abuse include (but are not limited to) child abuse or neglect, and elder abuse or neglect.  I act as a mandatory reporter, as outlined by The International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching.

–  Escalation Protocols:  As a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach, there are some things that are not in my scope of practice.  If you are in a place of active, significant risk, self-harm behavior with suicidal ideation, drug and or alcohol addiction, then we need to put a plan in place for people who can support you best. You can still work with me, but we will also need to escalate your care to include resources better suited to keep you safe.

Things you can expect of me:

–  To show up on time ready to work and be fully present with you

- To be knowledgeable about trauma and up to date on the latest research about trauma.

–  To give authentic acknowledgements, apology, appreciation, challenging, empowering, and encouraging feedback.

–  To create a safe space for you during the session.

– To support you and your recovery journey with honor, respect and integrity.

My expectations of you:

–  Please show up on time to each session 100% focused and ready to work on your recovery.

–  Please be honest and authentic in our time together.

–  Please do your best to communicate to me what works, and doesn’t work, for you to meet your recovery goals.

-  Please let me know if you feel triggered during a session.

–  Please let me know how you take care of yourself or if you need my help in developing a self-care plan.
